Got Any Rivers by Jimmy Swaggart
Luke 11:9
"And I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find; knock, and it will
be opened to you."
The message I heard this morning was based on the scripture above and the song, Got Any Rivers was used. I felt very impressed that someone needed to hear this. Don't ever give up on God. Keep on asking, seeking, and knocking for whatever you need. God hears your prayer and He will answer. I have been looking for the scripture above as this was not the scripture used in the message I heard. It took me a while and as I was about to give up I told God I'm going to keep looking, would you please show me this verse. I started again to close my Bible and I said, no, Father, please show me. I opened again and I looked down at my Bible and I had opened at this scripture in Luke. So whatever you need from Abba Father, do not give up He will answer you. He loves you, my friend.
I am linking this to Soaking on Sunday at aMazing Grace: Mazes, Messes, Miracles.
This was not planned, I am on a break, but the Lord just kept impressing me to do this.
Addendum 1-16-12. My OD (Oldest Daughter) was to come home and take us to see DH's sister but due to the need to be with one of their board members who was not expected to live through the night she felt the need to stay with his wife who is also a board member where she works. The man was 80 years old and did not live long after they removed the breathing tube. Our YD (Youngest daughter) took us to see my DH's sister. She is not doing well at all, not eating, drinking only ensure or boost. We were able to minister to her as her daughter said her mother did not have peace with God. Please pray that she accepted and prayed with us as we prayed for her. I felt the need to just lead her through the sinner's prayer again. Her countenance looked a lot better after we prayed. I would appreciate any prayers for her and I'm sure she and her family will appreciate them also.
Also my dh is having probems with his right ear (an infection) and the last ultrasound of his neck where he had surgery showed one of the lymp nodes to look suspicious. DH has had some swelling and pain. I also am having a lot of pain in my back down to my ankle and sever numbness if I forget to take my medicine. I really do not want more surgery. Your prayers for all of us will be appreciated.
I love you all and will be back when God tells me it's time to come back. I do read your post but don't comment. All that are sick are in my prayers also.

Alice - we are on the same page with our posts. In our lives, we will cross a lot of rivers, but we can rest assured that Jesus is with us through them all.
Amen.
Well, there are probably more than just me that needed it-but I can tell you for a certainty, that it was me that needed to read your post. So many many ways I want to give up and curl up in a hole somewhere. When you mentioned 'Abba Father', that was the real catch for me becaue that is my Word for 2012.
I feel fairly useless and burntout. But now I have a glimmer...thank you for being obedient-just for this ole person. I love you, and I have been praying for you as you requested.

"Got any mountains you can't tunnel through
God specializes in things thought impossible
If you'll let him have his way He'll make away for you
Let go and let God have His wonderful way
Let go and let God have His way
Your sorrow will vanish
You night turned to day
Let go and let God have His way
Let the Lord have His way
In your life everyday
There's no peace, there's no rest
Till the Lord has you best
Place your life in His hand
Rest secure in His plans
Let the Lord, let the Lord have His way
Let the Lord have His way
In your life everyday
There's no peace, there's no rest
Till the Lord has you best
Place your life in His hand
Rest secure in His plans
Let the Lord, let the Lord have His way
Place your life in His hand
Rest secure in His plans
Let the Lord, let the Lord have His way"
AMEN and Blessings Alice...
I'm sure this song is meant for someone or the message that you heard at SonLife.
I waited and watched to see if they would repeat it and I think I saw it last night.
The verse was Luke 11:5-13
and he gathered 3 hymnals or Bibles and threw them out from the stage to someone and knocked on the mic...
to tell us about how we need to keep asking!!! It was indeed powerful... but if you weren't on blog break, you might have seen that Sharon shared this last week
on Bible Pick 'ems... too!
So for all those praying and hoping for anything that may seem impossible, this song lets you know to keep asking, seeking and knocking but it's the power of the Holy Spirit that comes... to EVERYONE who asks, seeks, and knocks... breathe in and receive His anointed infilling and power today for whatever you are asking!
Love how he plays piano and wonderful song! Oh and the composer of this chorus, I read was Oscar C. Eliason (1929) written as he laid dying of TB in Mpls., MN...
and recovered and improved so much that even the drs. had to admit that something out of the ordinary had happened... he changed the words from an advertisement by a construction company that used a similar slogan that he read in the Mpls Star Tribune (newspaper)...
I read this from his son Vic
(VCY America Radio Network).
Praise God and thank you for sharing this, I pray that whoever needs this, receives this in Jesus name... however I also believe it was meant to encourage you, Alice... in your gift of praying!
Thank you...
Peggy

Lifting your prayer requests up... also for you and your dear husband.

Love Lea
