God's Word Will Never ChangeA friend sent me an email this morning regarding her son-in-law's sermon on Sunday. He said some very enlighting things. One is found in Romans 8:37, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
Another thing that he said which caught my eye (a little long but worth reading). {As “more than conquerors” we have a code to keep. We find it in 1 Peter 2:17, “Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” Peter makes it clear with no loop-holes or contingencies. In effect, "the code" provides the essentials to stay consistent in our witness for Christ in any situation: winning or losing, top or bottom, success or failure. When the pressure is on, keep the code. When opposed because of your beliefs, keep the code. When your politics are out of favor, keep the code. In so doing, you have the assurance of agreement with God above all else. Paul puts it this way: “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). IN SHORT: Agree with God, receive Christ, and be about His business and you are, by definition, “more than a conqueror.”}
It's a new day but we still serve the same God we served yesterday, He has not changed. People and things around us may change but God the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit will never change. Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." We must stand on His promises and we will be more than conquerors by continuing in faith in God and praying for our leaders.
May God Bless America.

Alice,
The results of the election have many christians worried that is for sure. But we really don't need to worry--God is in control as he has always been! It has been interesting to read on so many blogs just like you said "God has not changed; he is the same yesterday, today and forever.
I think that we (as christians) are going to be called to stand up for our faith more than ever in the coming days. And that is not a bad thing!!
thanks for your reminder and God bless America!
love,
Kim
Alice,
Good post. When I saw the results this morning, I prayed for our new president and our nation. It is not the only thing we can do it is the best thing we can do. We as believers will be fine, I fear for the ones that don't believe.
Thanks for stopping by earlier. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Will you pray for my cousins Terry and Carla, their youngest son commited suicide this weekend. I don't know Carla - we have not communicated over the years and I've only met her twice when I was 6 and again at 13. Never the less I feel for them and their loss. I have been praying for their peace and plan to send a card.
Blessings,
Lynn

Amen! I am a little late in coming here, but I feel the same way, God is in charge, and He has told us what to do. Circumstances don't dictate our actions, God's Word does!
