Thankful Thursday and Wedding Anniversary

Today is Thankful Thursday which I have not done in a while.  I have a lot to be thankful for.

Forty-eight years ago (September 23, 1962) I married the love of my life, well the second love of my life, Jesus is my first love.  I can't say it's always been smooth, but for the most part God has always provided for us and kept us together "in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer until death do us part."  The picture above was made after the wedding.  With all of the health problems I've had he takes very good care of me and I thank God for him.  We have two beautiful daughters, one son-in-law, and two marvelous grandchildren.   Thank you, Father, for always being with us.

I am so thankful that God spared my grandson a few months ago from what could have been a very tragic accident.  He ran off the road, overcorrected and rolled for 450 ft, got out of the car and walked to the highway to flag someone down.  He only had a few cuts on his face and a lot of tiny glass but I know that God has a work for him to do.  He and my granddaughter both love God with all their hearts.

To God be the glory for 48 years of marriage to one man.

Thankful Thursday and Prayer Request

Today is Thankful Thursday and I have so much to be thankful for and a prayer request.

1. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for the peace He gave me during some tests I had done.
2. I am thankful that God led me to this world of blogging for He has given me so many, many friends.
3. I want to say "Thank You" to all who have prayed for me.  I do believe those prayers are working.
4. Thank you to my wonderful husband who has been so supportive this week.
5. Thanks to my two beautiful daughters for their concern, prayers and support.
6. Thanks to all of you who have prayed for my cousin, Michael. The only thing he has told me is that he is losing weight and doing better. He needs to lose the weight to qualify for a liver transplant.

I do need your continued prayers.  The CTA Scan that I had on my neck and head showed that I have a blockage in one of the arteries in the back of my head.  Also my cholesterol is up (the good is low and the bad is high); therefore the doctor put me on some medicine.  For the past two years he has tried to put me on a cholesterol medicine but I have had reactions with both, quit taking the medicine and never called him.  I told the nurse that if I had a reaction to this one I would not take it.  You probably have guessed already that I did have a reaction.  I took the pill at supper and about 2 hrs. later when I went to get a bath I was brushing my teeth and had the feeling I've been having like I was going to pass out.  Then I felt like I could not walk, sorta like something was pushing me backward.  My husband had to walk me to our bedroom to sit down.  My prayer is that God will heal me and bring my cholesterol down and clean out the artery that is blocked.  He is the Great Physician and Jesus tells us that if we ask anything of the Father in His name  he will answer.  I have taken authority over the enemy, he cannot touch me because I am covered by the blood of the lamb and he cannot cross that blood line.  I am walking okay this morning but taking it slow as I feel a tightness in my head.  Physically I'm by myself all day today but I know that God and His Angels are protecting me.  Yesterday as I went to the blogs that were a part of WFW (Word Filled Wednesday), I felt that Jesus was leaving me little notes in the scriptures that I read.  Even my own blog had two scriptures that I get everyday spoke to me.  What a mighty God we serve.
Thanks again to all of you for your continued prayers and I will be praying for those of you who are having health problems.

1. Last week I received an email that another one of my cousins was in the hospital and that her body was shutting down. Yesterday I received another email telling me that she had been up and walked down the hall twice and if she continues to do well she will get to go home. To God be the glory.

2. Last night my husband and I were invited by our granddaughter to come to their church as she was being baptized. Usually on Wednesday night's this church is for the young people of which our grandson plays in the band. He has excelled in his playing which we had not seen and we give God the thanks for that.

3. Also our grandson had chosen to stay with the band at his church rather than playing baseball which had been the main thing in his life that he had excelled in. To God we give thanks that he chose playing for God and his church.

4. We were totally surprized that our daughter went into the bapiztry with our granddaughter while the pastor baptized her. Thank you God for that. I can't tell you why this meant so much to us.

5. This was the most amazing baptizing service I have ever wittnesed. There were probably around 20 and that is just a guess, there could have been more. A lot of them were teenagers who had accepted Christ and wanted to follow Him in this next step of their committment to God. There were a couple of families, and one teenager that was such a blessing. He told how the Lord had saved him from drugs, alcohol, suicide and I can't remember if there was anything else. Praise God for this group of people and pastors who are reaching out to young people and families.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

1. I am thankful that I woke up this morning in my right mind.
2. I am thankful for 47 years of marriage on September 23rd (to the same man).
3. I am thankful that we were able to go to to see our daughter who lives in Virginia Beach and that we had a safe trip there and back.
4. I am thankful that through my blog I am able to help others by prayer, by email or by commenting on other's blogs.
5. This last one I am very thankful for. My husband took me to the mall to try on a jacket that I had seen on the internet. While I was doing this he went to walk in the mall. When I try to shop by myself I sometimes get confused and can't find my way around. I had tried the jacket on and was trying to get back to where I got it but was having trouble until this very nice, very petite lady saw me and said she had looked at the same jacket but could not find her size. She helped me find where the jacket went and she stayed with me while I tried a different size and even helped me pick out another jacket. We were there at least 30 minutes or more. Do you believe in angels? I do. I believe God sent me an angel to help me for which I am very thankful to Him.

1. Thanks for my Heavenly Father and for His unfailing love.

2. Thanks to God for helping me through a very difficult week. Out of no where tears would come and I felt it was because of my cousin but I kept pushing the tears back.

3. Thanks to my husband for his support as I finally just let go. He knew what my problem was when I told him, in tears, that I needed prayer. He had been feeling some of the same things and he told me to just cry it out. He just held me as I let the tears flow and thanks to God as He brought healing to my heart.

4. I'm so thankful for having my cousin in my life. She was the one who gave me her gold Christmas tree ornaments, but she also gave me so much more, a friendly ear when I needed one.

5. Thanks to all my blogging friends for your faithful support and a special thanks to a group of people who sent me a card expressing their feelings and prayers (it was awesome).

God is so good how can people turn their backs on Him.

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

My list of five things I am thankful for this week can go into one big Thank You to my Heavenly Father, my blogging friends, my family support, and my daughters for all the things everyone did to encourage me the last two weeks. My 88 year old cousin had a very bad stroke 3 weeks ago today and she died on September 1st. The most wonderful "thank you" is that the Father gave me an opportunity to pray with her, she kissed me on the cheek and I kissed her (which she had never done) several weeks before she had the stroke. When my husband and I left her house that night I told him I felt like I was saying "goodbye" to her and as it turned out I was. I feel that I will see her again someday.

1. I am still thankful for what God did last week to help us get a new car.
2. I am thankful for all the new people I met on WFW yesterday.
3. I am so thankful for a long time friendship I have had with a lady I went to school and church with. She and her husband live in Alabama and we don't get to see each other very often but when we do it's like we've never been apart.
4. I am thankful for a group at our church called Golden Couples. It's a dinner for couples 65 and over that meets once a month and for the friendships within this group and our Senior Adult Pastor who always has a good program after the dinner.
5. I am thankful that God is still in control of our universe and His promise to take care of us in perilous times is still true.

4. I am so thankful for all the new people I have gotten to know through blogging. All of you have been an inspiration to me and helped me to grow stronger in my faith in God.

1. God's love and that He cares about all of us.

2. The promise of a home in Heaven.

3. I woke up in my right mind this morning.

4. For Isaiah 41:19 - "I do not have to fear or be dismayed for God is with me. He strengthens me and helps me. He will uphold me with His righteous right hand."

5. For all the ministry I have received from my friends right here in this world called "blogland". God has truly blessed me and helped me to learn more about Him and even helped me learn so much about blogging - things I never dreamed I would be able to do.

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

Today is Thankful Thursday hosted by Sonya at Truth 4 the Journey. If you would like to join also go to her blog for directions.

Five things I am thankful for:
1. The fact that I am able to see. There is a history of blindness on my dad's side of the family.
2. That I live in a free country and can still worship God. I pray that will never be taken away from us.
3. My wonderful cousin whom has become like a sister to me in the last few years. I never got to know a lot of my cousins because they lived so far away.
4. I'm still so thankful for the wonderful "sisters" I have met here in blogland whom I can talk with via the internet and when I ask for prayer I know they will be praying.
5. I'm thankful for a good place to live. So many people are struggling right now just to keep their homes but God helped us almost 20 years ago to find an apartment in a good place with a wonderful landlord and good neighbors.

I give honor and praise to my Saviour for all the above.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for the following:

1. My husband and I were able to go see my daughter in Virginia. It had been a while since we had been able to go.
2. We had a good time and had no problems in traveling (it's about 6 1/2 hrs. from where we live.
3. I have lost some weight and even though I ate some things I shouldn't have I did not gain any back. Maybe a little but it's back down.
4. My daughter had bought a new TV while we were there but could not get her remote to work right. God helped me to fix it for her. You see I believe He cares about us so much that He will even help us with the little insignificant things if we just ask Him to.
5. My blog messed up on Tuesday and Edie at RichGifts, Graphics and Blog Designs, tried to help but nothing seemed to work. Finally I put it in God's hands, asked a few people to help me pray and this morning I went in and did one little thing and God answered prayer and my blog is back to normal.

5. I'm thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this Thankful Thursday.
